Corporate Training – A Coach of a Different Kind

Atlanta Gazette, Reprinted November, 2017

Corporate TrainingMeet Tony Klingmeyer, Executive Coach, one of a growing legion of new professional counselors and corporate training coaches that serve a variety of needs for both individuals and companies. (A typical day for Tony?) It’s 7:00 p.m. on a Thursday night at the Resource Forum in Buckhead. Tony enters the Forum area where the bounce in his step betrays the fact that he has seen six clients today, totaling 8 hours of one-to-one meetings. Sipping on a Perrier and waxing philosophic, Tony reflects about his practice. “Sure, there are some long days, but you see, if you truly love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work. My life is about coaching. I’ve got more energy now than when I started at 8:00 a.m. this morning.”)

Tony talks about the coaching profession: “Business or Personal Coaches help their clients become self-aware, identifying personal goals, boundaries, and limits. My corporate training and coaching helps my clients to push beyond these limits and boundaries, creating new possibilities for their work and lives. In general, coaches provide their clients with the tools, support and structure to produce the outcomes they are committed to achieving and, especially in my practice and maybe more importantly, coaches work with clients to simply be more fulfilled in their work and life activities.”

“Business and personal coaching is somewhat like athletic coaching, although it typically isn’t about win-lose or competition. However, like an athletic coach, an “Executive” coach can “see” or distinguish aspects of you and your behavior that are difficult for you to see alone ~ especially those aspects that either hinder or heighten your overall effectiveness as a leader. I work with my clients to envision, clarify and articulate their commitments and dreams, and then to create actions and practices that are consistent with fulfilling on those commitments and dreams.

The men and women I work with are CEO’s, COO’s, CFO’s, Sales & Marketing Executives, and managers from a variety of industries including Technology, Telecommunications, Pharmaceutical & Biomedical, Manufacturing, Financial & Legal Services, and Hospitality.  My clients are successful and competent people who are simply interested in learning, growing and gaining a richer understanding of who they are and what they are here to contribute to their businesses, communities and the world at large.
